Confirmation
The Redemption Confirmation Program is designed to encourage students to grow and mature in their faith and understanding of God's Word of Promise. Our goal for the confirmation ministry is to teach the students God's plan of salvation in Jesus Christ as found in Scripture and Luther’s Small Catechism. It is our desire that the students grow strong in their relationship with Jesus, and are aware of his personal involvement in their daily lives. Bringing them to a personal relationship with Jesus as Savior and Friend, which they can turn to throughout their lives. Our Confirmation instruction is designed to connect with youth in the 6th-8th grades. Those older than this that are looking for Confirmation instruction should speak with Jason Koosmann or Pastor Joshua Parrish.
To bolster and build community with sister congregations, we are partnered with St Michael’s Lutheran Church in teaching our confirmation students. The instruction is shared between the leadership of both congregations, as well as utilizing both church campuses for different aspects of the learning throughout the school year.
The advantages of this partnership are that there are more students, which has increased participation. It also allows for the confirmation of students to take place at their congregation.
Confirmations classes begin in the fall with the school year and run till Holy Week. We will have classes at St. Michael’s, exam weeks will be at Redemption, and faith mentoring will be at respective congregations through the season of Lent.
If you have questions about the program, or an interest in getting a student into confirmation please contact Jason Koosmann. Jason@RedemptionMN.org
